Robbins Library Presents: Celebrating Judy Heumann
I was honored to be featured as a panelist for this event hosted by the Robbins Library in Arlington, MA. My friend and mentor, Judy Heumann, was supposed tob e the featured speaker for Arlington Reads Together in March, and on her sudden passing, I was gifted the opportunity to reflect on the impact she had on me and my life with other leaders in the East Coast disability community.
ABOUT ME
Someone called me “the sassy blind lady,” and without my hijab, I’ve been described as having a sassy ponytail! Sometimes you need sass, sometimes strategic patience, always a sense of humor, and more than a sprinkle of grit to live and bring about transformation.
